Definition and Areas of Use: :
Sodium hypochlorite is a type of chemical compound, also known as bleach or hypo, which is generally used as a bleach and disinfectant. The effective chlorine ratio of hypochlorite is around 15-16%. It is also used in the production of bleach, in water chlorination and purification systems, as a disinfectant, and as a bleach in textiles.
Its usage area is very common and it is a very good disinfectant. Sodium Hypochlorite is a chemical that is clear greenish yellow in liquid/liquid form and has a strong chlorine odor in aqueous solution. It is mostly traded (storage, shipment) in the form of aqueous solution with an effective chlorine content of 15%-16%. Its aqueous solution is called liquid chlorine, bleach, hypo, whitener, javel water, cleaning agent. Its aqueous solution has the consistency of water and is greenish yellow in color. It is necessary to be cautious when using it and use compatible equipment. The method is NaClO. Sodium Hypochlorite is mostly used as a disinfectant in water and as a bleaching agent in different sectors. It is used in making bleach, in water and wastewater treatment (water conditioning), in textiles (bleaching processes), in disposing of chlorine to water, and as a disinfectant in the paper industry. The technical (specific) properties of Sodium Hypochlorite are given in the table below. Sodium Hypochlorite [at pH 8.5] is produced in standard 8 gpl in contemporary electrolyzers that contain Titanium anode and cathode, utilizing Water, Salt and Current where required. Titanium anodes are coated with precious metal oxide catalysts and manufactured with unchanging efficiency, and the product is stored for use. Produced Hypochlorite is 10 times faster and more effective than Concentrated Hypochlorite due to its lower pH8.5. It is low cost and does not contain harmful chlorine compounds. During the disinfection of gas chlorine and water, no harmful or carcinogenic by-products are produced. It is quick and effective due to its low pH of 8.5. In daily life, bleach is used in bleach. Contact of acid with a working tissue causes damage to the tissues. This substance, which causes a huge amount of waste to the environment, is produced by combining with sodium hydroxide in chlorine and soaps at room conditions.
